( Y es, I realize this sounds like an underwhelming Christmas special, but that’s just the vibe of our national preventive strategy these days.) Covidtests.gov is accepting orders now—I just placed mine this morning. Each household can get a package with 4 individual tests. Orders will begin shipping the week of Dec. 19. Clocking over 200 minutes, Chantal Akerman's 1975 dreary drama follows three days in the monotonous routine of Jeanne, a widow, a mother, and a prostitute. I watched Jeanne’s autopilot existence, until, staring at her back as she washes dishes, I decided to fast-forward a couple of minutes, only to discover she was still at it.
