I brought an umbrella with me on my morning walk, and only on the way back —several hours into the storm—did I notice my beloved training journal sitting out on a jerk block in the driveway, where I’d left it after getting distracted while cleaning up after my workout the night before. M y journal was thoroughly, utterly   soaked . As I’ve written before , the whole reason I write my workouts down in a notebook ( rather than logging them in an app) is so I can own the contents, which can never be stuck in a cloud service if I forget a password. I can flip back to look at how my training has gone in the past. The history is important to me. However, there’s an easy way to collect them up that you probably never thought of. T his hack has been all over TikTok for some time now and has, since its revelation sometime last year, spawned a number of reaction videos from people who want to try it themselves and see if it works. Spoiler alert: It does work. All you need is a paper towel, water, a broom, and the dirt, of course. How to sweep up that last bit of dirt W et one side of a paper towel, then lay the towel down next to the dirt, dust, or debris you’re struggling to sweep up. Gently sweep the mess over the paper towel, where the dampness will make it stick. Cleanup is easy now, as all you have to do is gather up the soiled towel and toss it in the trash. It’s going well, but the resurgence of activity has forced me to come to terms with just how grody this thing can get , particularly the little ridge between the outside of the appliance and the liner. As you can see from the above photo, it gets pretty grimy in there. Spills and splatters and specks of food get trapped, as does dust. To make matters worse, the spot is fairly awkward to clean, as it’s sunk down, with a few little tabs from the appliance that hang over it, making it hard to access.
